Łukowa’s bricks undertake a very specialised process which provides it with greatly increased durability. Much of the process involves using nature/environmental factors to prepare the material and creates the structure of the brick. The material is piled up and during winter it undergoes the process of freezing. It is also sprayed with water to heighten its resistance to temperatures below zero. The process of piling up causes aeration of the material which makes it more plastic. Following its mixing with sand to improve the structure of the material, the material is then formed in wet cast moulds which end up in a Hoffmann kiln, all covered with sand. The process of firing is very complex and actually non-controllable and that is why a fired brick can surprise you with its incredible looks.
We offer 3 types of rustic brick: Roque, Smoke & Zendra.
